Thanks to all our brothers who made our Founders Dinner a success!

We gathered at the Parx Casino and Racetrack in Bensalem, Pa. on May 15 and raffled off a free homecoming weekend worth about $1,300. We hope all of you will make it back to State College for the weekend of Oct. 9 when Penn State will play Indiana at Beaver Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 10.

As for our dinner, we had plenty of fun and brothers in attendance were treated to a speech from former Penn State assistant football coach Jay Paterno. The Nittany Lions’ former quarterbacks coach and son of legendary head coach Joe Paterno has a gift for public speaking and hung around to chat and sign copies of his recent book, Paterno Legacy: Enduring Lessons From the Life and Death of my Father.

Brother David Lipner ’13 was in attendance and shared his appreciation with Paterno on social media. Lipner tweeted at Paterno shortly after the event

“Thank you so much for speaking tonight,” Lipner tweeted. “You spoke so eloquently. Also appreciated your candor. Look forward to speaking again.”

Paterno, a prolific Twitter user, responded in kind.

“Thanks--I had a great time,” Paterno tweeted. “The Beta Sigma Beta Alums from PSU are indeed a great group of people.”

Thanks again to all who made the trip and made the evening memorable. Were you there? Do you have photos or stories from that night? We’d love to hear from you!
